Edo NUJ Congratulates Professor Edoba Omoregie on Assumption of office As Vice Chancellor

Benin city: The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has congratulated Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie on his appointment and subsequent inauguration as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin.

This is contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the council, Comrade Dr Festus Alenkhe, JP and Secretary of the Council, Comrade Andy Egbon respectively and made available to journalists in Benin City, Edo State.

According to the statement, "our warmest congratulations to you on your well-deserved appointment and assumption of office as the 11th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN)".

The statement described Professor Omoregie's elevation to the esteemed position as a testament to his exceptional contributions to the fields of law, governance, and academia over the years. 

It further noted that as a distinguished scholar and administrator, his accomplishments serve as an inspiration, not only to the academic community, but also to society at large.

The statement emphasised that the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council recognizes the wealth of knowledge, expertise and visionary leadership he would bring to the University. 

The statement reads in part: "We are confident that your tenure will herald a transformative era for UNIBEN, characterized by academic excellence, innovation and impactful community engagement.

The statement explained that the union take great pride in his achievements, especially as a proud son of Edo State, whose illustrious career continues to project the state in a positive light.

Your success reinforces the values of hard work, dedication and integrity that we collectively cherish.

The Edo NUJ pledged its support to his administration in fostering robust partnerships and promoting educational and societal development initiatives. 

The statement noted that Edo NUJ look forward to working collaboratively with his office to advance mutual interests that benefit the university, the state, and the broader society.

The Council wished him a successful and fulfilling tenure as Vice-Chancellor and prayed for divine wisdom and strength to guide him in this pivotal role.
