Edo Partners for Peace condemn the recent killings in Uromi

A peacebuilding organisation in the Niger Delta has condemned the recent killings of alleged kidnappers by some members of a vigilante group in Uromi, Esan North East local  government area of Edo State. The organisation known as Partners for Peace (P4P) Network in the Niger Delta, Edo  State chapter, said no individual has the right to take the life of another. 

This was contained in a press release signed by Edo State Coordinator of P4P- Engr. Eugene Okoeguale. The release called for investigation into the killings and called on Edo State government not to relent in unravelling the truth surrounding the killings. 

The release commended community leaders, especially the leadership of Arewa community in the area, for descalating tensions and handling the situation with restrain.

The press release also called on the State Police Command and other security agencies to conduct thorough and speedy investigations into the matter and bring those found culpable to book. It also charged the community to work with the security agencies to fish out the culprits.
