The President of Lagos Achievers Lions Club Region 3, District 404A3 - Lion Imeobong  Oluwateniola Oluyemi, NLCF, says one of the club's community service projects for the 2024/2025 Lion's Service Year, is to deliver quality healthcare services to members of their community. She said the Club was set to organise a quality health fair programme based on findings from their needs assessment and to tackle the health challenges of residents of Obalende and Ijeh communities in Ikoyi-Obalende LGA, Lagos State.

The newly installed President revealed this while presenting her agenda to Social Reporters News Service in Lagos. She said part of her agenda was to assist the district to reach its target of 100 glaucoma surgeries.

Lion Imeobong Oluyemi said her agenda also included: "ensuring the implementation and reporting of quality service projects, according to five of the association's eight core causes such as protecting the environment, creating awareness of childhood cancer, hunger relief, promoting vision through fighting reversible and preventable blindness, and increased awareness and screening for diabetes, etc.. This will attract more members and will especially put smiles on the faces of the people living within the Obalende community.

"Others include making  members of my club happy by maintaining a good relationship with everyone, making the team stronger, more satisfied, more agile and eager to serve; to grow our membership strength by ensuring we retain current membership while embarking on a targeted approach to recruiting using our Global Membership Approach; to keep my club in good standing by paying both the international and local dues; lastly,  by leading my club to conduct more needs assessment-based projects.

Speaking about her experiences, she said: "I am a Human Resource Consultant. I have also been club secretary for three years in a row, during which time I managed the engine of the club. I have also headed a number of project committees which successfully organized and executed  hunger alleviation and diabetes awareness and screening projects.

"These roles exposed me to every aspect of the club's operations, and required me to polish and utilize my leadership and organizational skills.

"Finally, I have just served as First Vice President, a role which has prepared me for better understanding and execution of the expected responsibilities and to deliver the objectives we have set out in our plan.

"I honestly believe that a stronger district will offer invaluable support to the clubs who will in turn serve their communities better. I really desire that communities get as much help as possible, therefore I will work hard to see that the district soars".
