Advancing quality education in Nigeria: Edo CSACEFA counts the gains of coalition at 25

The Edo State Chapter of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) has joined the national body and other State chapters in celebrating the coalition’s 25th anniversary, expressing deep appreciation and heartfelt acknowledgment of its remarkable contributions to advancing quality education across Nigeria.

Speaking at a special commemorative gathering in Benin City, the Edo State Coordinator- Ronke Ojeikere commended CSACEFA’s visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality education for every child. 

According to Ronke Ojeikere, "over the past twenty-five years, CSACEFA has evolved into a dynamic coalition that amplifies the voices of civil society organizations, strengthens accountability systems, and promotes citizens’ engagement in education governance".

She said the Edo Chapter acknowledged that CSACEFA’s coordinated advocacy, policy dialogues, and community interventions has brought positive changes to schools and education systems nationwide, and that through collaborative efforts, the coalition has supported Advancing quality education in Nigeria: Edo CSACEFA counts the gains of coalition at 25 access to education, better teacher welfare, and increased budgetary allocation for the education sector.

"The Edo Chapter particularly appreciated the support, capacity-building programs, and mentorship provided by the national secretariat, which have strengthened its local operations and community outreach".

Reflecting on its journey, the Edo State Chapter noted that CSACEFA’s 25th anniversary is not just a celebration of years of achievements, but of impact—measured in the countless number of  children who now have access to learning opportunities and the communities empowered to demand better education outcomes.

The Desk Officer, Child Protection and Safeguarding Unit, Edo SUBEB, Mrs Isoken Osewemwegie, expressed deep appreciation to CSACEFA for their impactful collaboration in tackling out-of-school issues and gender-based violence. She noted that this partnership aligns with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s Project SHINE, emphasizing access, safety, and inclusion in education. 

She praised CSACEFA’s 25-year journey and affirmed the Board’s commitment to future collaborations.
