EID AL-ADHA: Partners for Peace Network in the Niger Delta, Edo State sue for peaceful coexistence as pathway to development
As Muslims celebrate the eid al-adha, the Partners for Peace Network in the Niger Delta (P4P), Edo State chapter has reiterated the importance of peace in the actualization of individual and community's aspiration. This was contained in a press release signed by the State Coordinator- Engr. Eugene Okoeguale, and the State Secretary- Dr. Isaac Eranga FSFSN APRCN.
According to the release, peace is the purveyor of development, and in having this peace, everyone irrespective of his/religion must work assiduously to uphold the moral tenet of "Being Your Brother's Keeper ".
"Being your brother's keeper reflect the compassion you have for each other. This compassion is not hinged on religion but on humanity.
"Prophet Mohammed was a lover of peace and he was so full of compassion for the oppressed and the vulnerable to the extent that he fought for them.
"We are hereby using this medium to call on all Muslims to live a life of sacrifice, peace, compassion, selflessness, and unity in order for us live in peaceful coexistence. This is what will sustain the developmental stride of the State government.
"In see every adherents of other religions as your brothers and sisters, you are creating conducive environment for businesses, economy, development, to thrive".
"The Partners for Peace Network in the Niger Delta is committed towards building peace in our communities. This we do through peacebuilding activities such as conflict resolution, mediation, communal disputes, boundary disputes, arbitration, etc.", the release said.
