Edo Partners for Peace condemn the recent killings in Uromi

By Isaac Eranga, Journalists for Peace Network  A peacebuilding organisation in the Niger Delta has condemned the recent killings of alleged kidnappers by some members of a vigilante group in Uromi, Esan North East local  government area of Edo State. The organisation known as Partners for Peace (P4P) Network in the Niger Delta, Edo  State chapter, said no individual has the right to take the life of another.  This was contained in a press release signed by Edo State Coordinator of P4P- Engr. Eugene Okoeguale. The release called for investigation into the killings and called on Edo State government not to relent in unravelling the truth surrounding the killings.  The release commended community leaders, especially the leadership of Arewa community in the area, for descalating tensions and handling the situation with restrain. Gov. Okpebholo visits Uromi, vows to bring killers of travellers to justice

The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has received a sad report of an incident in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the State on Thursday, March 27. 2025, leading to unwarranted murder and arson. The State Government strongly condemns the barbaric act allegedly committed by members of a local vigilante.  Initial reports report indicate that the victims were travelling through the town from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when they were intercepted on suspicion of being criminals by the local vigilante members.  Governor Monday Okpebholo who visited the town on Friday to access the situation, expressed dismay over the heinous killings. Stakeholders task Edo State Government on developing organic waste recycling facilities

Stakeholders comprising the Government, Waste Managers, Waste pickers, Academia, Media, Community leaders and Civil society groups among others, have called on Edo State government to adopt a zero waste approach to waste management with emphasis on waste segregation and waste pickers integration in a bid to creating a circular economy where nothing goes to landfills or incinerators. Presenting the money to the wife and brother of the deceased, the President of ICCOBA Class of 96 Worldwide- Mr. Kingsley Otaigbe Odigie described the death of Mr. Iyen Ikponmwosa as a great shock and urged the family to make good use of the money, especially for the upkeep of the children.  According to Mr. Kingsley Otaigbe, "late Mr. Iyen Ikponmwosa live a life worthy of emulation. Edo is overdue for an International Airport, says EPIA

By Isaac Eranga,  Edo Progressive Indigenous Association (EPIA), also known as Edo Indigenous Movement Worldwide says with the volume of resources coming from Edo indigenes in the diaspora, Edo is long overdue to have an international airport and seaport.  This was revealed to SOCIAL REPORTERS  NEWS SERVICE  in Benin City by the President and Founder of EPIA- Chief Bishop Omogiade Enoyiogiere Edokpolo. According to Chief Bishop Edokpolo, Edo Indigenous people will not rest until there's an international airport and an international seaport in Edo. "Having an international airport and seaport in Edo, will go a long way in opening the ancient city of Edo to the globe, and it will help in creating unlimited jobs for Edo indigenes. Edo Partners for Peace elects new Executives, sets a new template for peaceful elections

By Isaac Eranga- Journalists for Peace Network  Partners for Peace (P4P) Network in the Niger Delta, Edo State chapter held a peaceful election penultimate weekend to usher in executives that will manage the affairs of the peacebuilding network for the next three years.  The election which was held at the Peace House, 179 M/M way, opposite Immaculate Conception College (ICC), Benin City, saw Engr. Eugene Okoeguale, AICMC returning as Edo P4P Coordinator.  Others elected include: Dr. Isaac Eranga, FSFSN, APRCN as Secretary; Maria Okoh Deputy Coordinator; Grace Amayo Assistant Secretary; Joy Anyia Treasurer; Nnamdi Dikedi as Research and Documentation Officer; Abdukareem Oronsaye Public Relations Officer; and Justice Christian Ndukwu as Welfare Officer.
