By Favour Eso ABAKALIKI  – A middle aged woman, Ms Wordi Aleruchi, a staff of the National Youth Service Corps, has reportedly been physically assaulted by the Executive Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon. Barrister Clement Odah. The Chairman it is alleged, had made several sexual advances to Ms Aleruchi, a native of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State but to no avail. Group lauds Obaseki over approval of new Board for EDSOGPADEC

By Isaac Eranga, Benin A nationally registered nongovernmental organization- The Connected Advocacy, has commended the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for reconstituting the board of Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC). Speaking, the Executive Director of the NGO, Prince Israel Orekha, said the approval of the new board by Governor Obaseki, proves that he is a governor that listens to the yearnings of the people. Prince Israel Orekha urges Edo people to support Governor Obaseki in a bid to bringing development to their neigbhourhood, which is the essence of the EDSOGPADEC board. Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia Youth and Children Leadership Development Center opened in Benin

By Isaac Eranga, Benin In a bid to developing the leadership skills of youth in Edo State, a youth and children leadership development and resource center named after the Egor Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia has been opened in Benin. The center which was established by the Connected Advocacy- a nationally registered non-governmental organisation, will also engage in activities that will ensure that the rights of youths and children are protected. Speaking, the Egor Council boss said this was the first center named after her, saying she cheerished the center because it has to do with youth and children. Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia commended the Connected Advocacy for finding her worthy to be named after the center. In a joint statement by its President, Comrade Jonathan Okunbor and Secretary, Comrade Goodluck Osama Ogbeide, the group, said the governor has demonstrated sufficient courage in building the capacity of Edo youths towards addressing the daunting economic challenges in the Country. Egor youths call for safe space

By Isaac Eranga The Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Egor Local Government Chapter, Edo State, Comrade Peter Aguebor, has called on state and national governments to create enabling environment for youths to actualize themselves. Comrade Aguebor said this at the auspices of the 2018 International Youth Day celebration, with the theme: safe space for youths. "The theme looks at how we can give youths enabling environment to actualize themselves, and be included in governance", he said. He said the space being agited for, falls within the following spheres: physical, economic, socio-cultural, spiritual, and political.
