No fewer than five delegates to the second national council meeting of the Niger Delta holding in Igbokoda, the headquarters of the Local Government Area of Ondo State, died in motor accident on Tuesday. The delegates, whose identities were not ascertained yet, were travelling from Akure, the state capital to Igbokoda for the summit which Vice President Yemi Osibanjo was to preside over. It was also gathered that four other delegates were injured in the accident that occurred at Ode-Aye on Ore Okitipupa Road. Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, who confirmed the accident said it was caused by excessive speed.

IYAMHO: Edo University Iyamho (EUI) yesterday commenced its second semester examination despite the ongoing strike currently embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Speaking with journalists on the commencement of the examination, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen M. A blindfolded corpse of a smartly dressed man made to sit on a bare floor as its back rested against a wall has been found inside a church in Benin City. The frightening discovery was made by a worshipper who had gone for morning prayers in the church at 1, Aigbe Street, Off Igbama Street, Off Odeh Street, Upper Siluko Road, Ogida, Benin City. The identity of the deceased remain unknown to congregation and residents of the area at press time. He was shot dead in the church about 8pm last Tuesday. Pastor said the corpse wasn't in the church when he left about 6:30pm that fateful evening. Police say he was captured elsewhere, dragged inside the desolate building and brutally murdered by warring cultists.
