----Every 2 minutes a woman dies of cervical cancer By Isaac Eranga Ibadan: In a bid to eradicating cervical cancer in Oyo State, Nigeria, University of New Mexico, University of Baltimore, Project Echo and Center for Bioethics and Research (NUUCCE), has launched a training in cancer screening for 100 health workers in Oyo State. The training is aimed at building  capacity in the Oyo State health care system to screen and prevent cervical cancer by implementing cutting edge, evidence based theoretical and practical training. In the course of the training, partipants will be trained via a blend of didactic presentations and hands on sessions for a period of 12 months. Speaking, a Professor of Epidemiology, University of Maryland, Baltimore- Clement Adebamowo said the training lays a foundation for the elimination of cervical cancer in Oyo State.  Benin City: The Executive Director of Global Women for Quality and Sustainable Development Initiative - Miriam Kadiri-Ezelome has emphasized on the need for women to synergize in order to have a noticeable position in the society.  Mrs Kadiri-Ezelome said this during a one day capacity building training for women in leadership on mitigating gender based violence in Edo State.
