Crisis faces Okeze community over CDA operation

Police arrest Fulani man with human skull, 17 others in Oyo

dailypost.ng Men of the Oyo State Police Command Wednesday said that they have arrested a 30-year old Fulani man, Musa Ahmed, with human skull in Ogbomoso area of the state. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Olukolu, while parading the suspect told journalists that another seventeen suspects were arrested for various offences. DAILY POST gathered that Ahmed was intercepted by men of Igbeti Area Command led by ASP Tajudeen Toys during stop and search, and when searched, a human skull was found in a bag, which belonged to the suspect and another passenger who is at large. The suspect told journalists that he was innocent of the crime and was only implicated because he is a Fulani man. The meeting gave various political party' candidates the privilege to present their manifestos to the electorates. Speaking, the conveyor of the meeting and Executive Director of Social Development Integrated Center (Social Action), Mrs. Vivian Bello, said the rationale behind the programme was to look at the manifestos of those that will ascend into political leadership in Edo State. She said it is a forum of bringing the candidates and the electorates together, so as to know the agenda behind the various parties. Fitness of Referees: Edo Refs roll out training programs

As part of effort towards improving the fitness of Edo Football Referees, the Edo State Football Referees Council has rolled out training programs for members. Speaking at the end of a routine training exercise at the UNIBEN Sports Complex in Benin , the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Johnbull Okundolor said the training program was in line with the one designed by the National Training Officer of the Nigeria Football Referee Association (NRA), Olori Sarah Jumoke Adeniran FIFA (Rtd.). He said the Council will not compromise on training standard, and urged all to cooperate with the training department as the training programs are rolled out. Mr. Okundolor emphasised that attendance to the training programs, guarantees match placement. World Radio Day: Obaseki advocates innovative programming to curb illegal migration, fake news

By Isaac Eranga, Benin The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has made a case for the use of innovative radio programming to curb contemporary challenges in society such as illegal migration and the spread of fake news. The governor made the submission in commemoration of the United Nations World Radio Day, marked on February 13, each year. He said: “The transformational power of radio presents a crucial tool in mobilising people for action.
