The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, on Monday said the All Progressives Congress would reject the result of Rivers East Senatorial District rerun election. Peterside told a news conference in Port Harcourt that the collation of the district’s election results was marred with irregularities. He said that information available to the party showed that results of some local government areas in the district had not been collated. 12-yr-old boy reportedly buried inside wall, rescued

Photos shared on social media shows a young boy alleged to be 12-years-old, being rescued from the inside of a wall where he was reportedly buried. A Facebook user shared the shocking photos claiming that the young boy had been rescued from a wall in Ondo state. The user, Peter Agba Kalu wrote: "Mysterious Things That Happens In Africa. A 12 years old boy found in the middle of a molded block in Ondo State. Am too shocked for words. I don't know how to explain the possibility of this because it's beyond science. Only someone with deep understanding of the spiritual realm will analyse this. Someone help us explain this please". Although we cannot confirm that the incident actually occurred in Ondo state, we can tell that it actually happened and a child was buried in a wall for some unknown reason. King Sunny Ade Legend sells guitar for N52.1 million

The auction held at the Sunny On Sunday concert, commemorating the 70th birthday ceremony of Juju music icon, King Sunny Ade. The event which held on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at the Temple Balmoral Marquee, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. A major highlight of the event was the auction of one of King Sunny Ade’s famous guitars masterfully painted by award-winning artist, Victor Ehikhamenor. The master-piece is a collector’s item and has been receiving anonymous bids. However, the buyer of the guitar which was auctioned by Dr. Jogun Onabanjo, Certified Auctioneer and Chief Executive of Onabanjo & Onabanjo & Co, is yet to be revealed. Governor Udom Emmanuel on Saturday, December 11, narrowly escaped death after a church building collapsed during service. The pastor of Reigners Bible Church, Akan Weeks, was being consecrated as a Bishop when the tragedy struck. According to the account of a policeman, who was present at the church on the fateful day, the Governor was seated near the altar while the collapse started from the edge. Emmanuel was said to be in the ordination service with his deputy. The police source also claimed that one of the Governor's aides died while shielding his boss from the falling debris. About 90 people reportedly died in the incident. In a statement issued by his personal assistant, Mr. Ekerette Udoh , commiserated with the families of the victims and ordered an immediate investigation into the tragedy. NSE probes Uyo church building collapse, visits site

A special committee set up by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has visited the scene of Saturday’s collapsed building at Reigners Bible Church International in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The NSE on Monday began investigation into the cause of the collapsed building where scores of worshippers died during the bishopric ordination service of the founder of the church, Akan Weeks. The committee led by a Professor of Structural Engineering, Prof. Charles Uko, and has several other members. Police officer beheaded as Rivers rerun turns bloody

As reports of violence in some areas of Rivers state continue to emanate. The Nigerian army in its official report stated that a police officer, DSP Alkali Mohammed was beheaded during the election. According to Premium Times, Mr Mohammed, who was a deputy superintendent of police, was killed during an ambush at Omoku, Onelga Local Government Area. He was reportedly killed alongside his orderly. Some police officers confirmed Mr Mohammed’s death stating that he was a member of the Mobile Police 19 team in Port Harcourt and that he was a brave officer as well as the son of a retired police officer.
