Our correspondent learnt that the Oamens, who hailed from Edo State, had been living in the estate for over 15 years. It was gathered that the father, said to be a retired worker in a company in Apapa, was battling with stroke, and usually remained indoors. Over 4,700 migrants rescued off Libya coast – Italian coastguard

Over 4,700 migrants have been rescued off the coast of Libya as they tried to reach Europe , an Italian coast guard disclosed. Tens of thousands of people, mainly from Africa and the Middle East, have tried to cross the Mediterranean this year, often dangerously packed into small vessels unsuitable for the voyage. A statement by the coastguard said that one woman was found dead in the rescue mission on Saturday, although no further details were given on the cause of death. According to the statement, the migrants were evacuated to safety in a 20 rescue operations involving numerous vessels which ferried the migrants from rubber boats and barges. In the same development, another 335 people were picked up as part of a rescue mission coordinated by Greece and directed to a port in Italy to disembark. The rescues were carried out by vessels from the Italian coastguard and navy, humanitarian agency Doctors Without Borders, and the Malta-based Migrant Offshore Aid Station. ...

Warrant to Arrest Bukola Saraki Missing By Our Correspondent

The Police had on Sunday said they were yet to receive a bench warrant to arrest the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, adding that Saraki would be arrested once the order was served on the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase. The Code of Conduct Tribunal had on Friday ordered the arrest of Bukola Saraki on alleged falsification in declaring his assets. The Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole said the Police were yet to get the warrant. According to Olabisi, "We have not received the warrant, you know today is Sunday and the courts don't work on weekends. So, it's likely that the order will get to us on Monday".
