UNFPA To Train Extension Health Workers LAGOS - The UN Population Fund (UNFPA), said it was planning to commence training of community extension health workers across the six geo-political zones of the country on how to administer injections. The UNFPA Head of Lagos Liaison Office, Dr Omolaso Omosehin, made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Lagos. Management of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric hospital in Benin City yesterday said it sacked four of its staff with recourse to due processes and adherence to Public Service Regulations. It said the four affected staff had committed several offences in the past that would have led to their sack but were pardoned. Chairman of the hospital management board, Dr. Abieyuwa Osemwenkha, who spoke at a press briefing yesterday said the management acted based on recommendations by a committee set-up by the Federal Ministry of Health. Dr. Abieyuwa gave the names of the sacked workers to include Mr. O.J Ugiagbe-Ogbeide, Theophilus Osifo, Dr. Ambrose Lawani and Pharmacist Kennedy Oriakhi.
